Committed to generating new paradigms and attending to innovative interdisciplinary shifts, Crip: New Directions in Disability Studies focuses on cutting-edge developments in the field, with interest in exploratory analyses of disability and globalization, ecotheory, new materialisms, affect theory, performance studies, postcolonial studies, and trans theory. 鈥淐rip鈥� announces the intention of the series to nurture the 鈥渕ad turn,鈥� the global turn, and other transformative recent developments in the field. The single word functions as noun, adjective, and perhaps most provocatively as verb. The term 鈥渃rip鈥� has the capacity to encompass forms of embodiment or states of mind that are arguably in excess of the able-minded or able-bodied/disabled binary. Not unlike 鈥渜ueer鈥� at its most radical, 鈥渃rip鈥� has the potential to be flamboyantly identitarian while rejecting the capacity of language saturated in ableism to categorize and encompass disability.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS聽
Submissions should take the form of a 3-5 page proposal outlining the intent and scope of the project, its merits in comparison to existing texts, and the audience it is designed to reach. You should also include a detailed Table of Contents, 2-3 sample chapters, and a current copy of your curriculum vitae.
